Extra Dimensions

Chapter Ten

Tall Cover No Text_edited.jpg

"I dunno. Some LHC data indicates there’s at least four other dimensions needed to understand ...describe what’s going on."

"Eight dimensions? How do they get at that?"

"You're axing me? Surely you're joking, Mr. Immie! But imagine a 3-D geodesic globe. A lattice of interlocking hexagons. Now picture its shadow on a flat surface. Our senses are so limited, that's all they can grab! How long does it take us to realize this sense impression is jest a projection of some globular crystal when we can only see in two dimensionals? And what if that glob's rotatin' and wobblin' with multiple protrusions sticking out–and other structures whizzing by at crazy odd intervals?"
