Chapter Ten

Tall Cover No Text_edited.jpg

"Stan, you can’t DO PHYSICS without Maths, but equations ultimately don’t help you understand anything. Maths don’t describe nuttin any betterer than your eyes, your nose, or your ears can describe sumpin. You sense a thing in all kinds of ways, but that doesn’t let ya describe it. Try describing music. You can’t. Like our udder senses, Maths are just ways to detect what might be out there and what it might be doing. But like other sense organs, Maths can be deceived, or help us deceive ourselves. Feynman said if we lost all our Maths, Physics would be set back by about one week."

"Are you joking, Mr. Iderer? So it don’t describe nothing, just predicts or detects stuff? Tell me something new and interesting."
