A pope suit would not be cheap. It would actually be quite comical on Abey, but the amount of material required to drape him would make such a thing especially exorbitant. Still, he was sorely tempted, enamored with the idea of being a jowly Jewish pope. And that bastard, after all, could afford it.
Abe called her “Scary Carey." If she were a little thinner and less pretty, she could more pervasively convey the air of a New England spinster in the Margaret Hamilton mode. But if she were boney I’d just have to buy her an umbrella with a parrot head and a Mary Poppins coat and hat. Not that she’d wear it. “Not Funny!” she’d say.
